Trading cryptocurrencies and other financial instruments involves high risk. You may lose all the money you invest. Trade only with money you can afford to lose.
What you need to understand
- Prices are highly volatile. Cryptocurrencies can lose tens of percent of their value within hours. A stop-loss reduces risk but is not always executed at the desired price.
- Past results do not guarantee future results. Results of paper trading, backtests and examples in lessons do not promise the same results on a real account.
- Leverage multiplies losses just as it multiplies profits, and can lead to the loss of the entire deposit.
- Exchanges are third parties. Checking their reliability, rules and availability in your country is your responsibility. An exchange may be hacked or blocked.
- Regulation differs between countries. In many countries crypto-assets are not covered by deposit insurance or investor compensation schemes.
- Taxes. You are responsible for recording and paying taxes on trading income under the laws of your country.
- Scammers promise guaranteed income and ask you to “transfer money for management”. We never do that — lesson 13 teaches how to recognise such schemes.
